A bit of history…

(1/3). – Where do i come from?

I grew up surrounded by love and caring. At school i was a regular good student (to some extent), where i sheltered in sports and basketball specially. But Saturdays were the bests: i was drawn by my two aunts and sisters for the love of the firsts personal computers with DOS and Windows 3.1 and videogames like Monkey Island, Doom, Prince of Persia, Police Quest Saga, etc, and their love also for cinema, books, comics and table games like HeroQuest, Golditz’s Escape, Risk or Monopoly. Aaaaand i could draw and paint scenes from movies, since childhood! (Back at the time, Terminator II hit hard), and i remember watching it three times in a whole afternoon until midnight at their place. I also remember drawing some now old VHS video tapes covers for “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and The Beast”, which my two little sisters loved. I could say that my first crush as a child and teenager was with all these mixture of Literacy, Tecnology and Art. It was not until i matured a Little bit more that i fell in love with the stories of Zemeckis, Spielberg, Reitman, Cameron, The Scotts (both), Demme, but also Hitchcock, Bresson, Clouzot, Luc Besson, Carné, Álex de la Iglesia, Antonio Mercero, and so on.

(2/3). – Where am i now?

I am a Telecom engineer specialized in Audiovisual Systems. Love the technological and artistical craftmanship of all stuff related to Image and Sound.

As a result: i ended up mixing Technology and Art working and developing the bulk of my career in Media & Entertainment companies: videogames and 3D/VFX movies above all. More than 13 years of experience coding in Python, C, C#, Maya, Blender, Houdini,..etc.

It was not always like this: i struggled some 5 years looking where to fit in once i finished my education. Did some DDBBs administration, web development, and some C++ coding as well while i learnt 3D concepts with 3DS Max and Photoshop. Turns out, it all ended up adding up to who i am now and the skills i bring to the table. More than being a “knowledgeable” or “the guy to go to” guy, i would say i am someone that makes things work, in a few words: i get the job done. (and sometimes, even in the most efficient way).

(3/3).- Where do i want to be?

I have reached a point in life where i think i have: the skills and knowledge, the eagerness, and the youth (40s are the new 30s, ya know ;))!) to be able to choose how i want to work and with who i want it to happen. “Shit happens” everywhere, but handled between a tiny group of lads and folks that get along pretty well is my true desire!.

So, if you feel the same way, want to work with good people and “share the burden”, be a “band of brothers” or just have a cup of Colombian coffee and a nice chat: don’t hesitate and hit me up!: christopherlloyd@outlook.es

Best Regards,
